Green Thumb

Cultural practices : lettuce is the first harvest of spring. Very resistant to cold, it can be sown as soon as you can work the soil. For an early harvest, sow in a hot or cold layer and transplant directly in May. Germination will be faster and more uniform if the temperature is between 10 ° C and 15 ° C

Soil : rich, well-drained soil is ideal for its cultivation.

Spacing : seeds are buried about five millimeters deep and can be sown densely.

Growing tips : adding decomposed manure, compost, or fertilizer with a high level of nitrogen is beneficial. Needs full sun and constant humidity. Mulch the soil to reduce weeds and maintain soil moisture.

Harvest : Ideally, harvest tender young leaves, preferably early in the morning, as they grow. This also delays when the plants go to seed.
