Lovage has a celery-like growth; it can be eaten raw or blanched. Its leaves have a pleasant celery flavour. Sprinkle seeds over meat dishes or candies can also be used in the making cordials or lovage wines. Roots have medicinal qualities.

Plantation : Indoor: sow the seeds in April in multi-cells, taking care to cover the seeds with 1 cm of soil. The germination time is 20 days. Outdoor: direct sowing in pockets of 2-3 seeds directly in place at the beginning of June or in September, covering the seeds with 2 cm of soil.

Soil : Indoor: A well-drained, porous seedling soil is ideal for preventing overwatering.Outdoor: Lovage can grow very well in a sunny location or in partial shade without any problem. The important thing is to provide it with a well-drained soil rich in humus which will promote its development.

Spacing : space them one yard in all directions.

Cultural practices : Once planted, do not forget to water your lovage plant on a regular basis, especially during the first year. Once the plant is well anchored in the ground, you should be able to space your waterings without a problem and allow three good years to get a mature plant. Cover the base with mulch to keep the soil moist and protect the roots from the cold.Lovage can grow very well in a sunny location or in partial shade without any problem.
