Rich, very dark blue kale with a rosette plant habit making it easy to harvest. Black Magic has a sweet flavor, a vigorous regrowth and a good uniformity. It also resists bug damage. Throughout the season, new leaves will appear, providing you with a continuous harvest.
Green Thumb
Cultural practices : sow them early in spring or in June or July. To prevent disease, do not plant them where crucifers have been grown for the past two years.
Soil : prefers rich, clayey soil with a pH of 6.5 that retains moisture well.
Spacing : Plant them at a depth of 6 mm and at a distance of 2.5 cm. Seedlings should be thinned to 30 cm.
Growing tips : kale roots grow near the surface of the soil be careful when weeding. Do not dig deeper than 3 cm (1 inch) to avoid cutting the roots. Thick mulch will prevent weed growth.
Harvest : you can start harvesting kale after a month, when the leaves are a beautiful, rich green. Remember, if the leaves get too dark, they will be harder and bitter. Don't take too many leaves from one plant, or it will stop growing.
