Plantation : Indoor: It is suggested to sow 6-8 weeks before planting outside. Needs Light to germinate! Do not cover with soil or other planting medium! The germination can be quicker if kept at a temperature around 18 °C. Transplant the seedlings when they are large enough to handle, in 8 cm tubs or containers. Allow them to develop in cooler conditions for 10 to 15 days before setting up outside, after all risk of frost, spacing them 30 cm to 45 cm apart. Outdoor: They can be sown at any time from mid-May to September, sow onto a good soil-based compost.
Soil : Indoor: A well-drained, porous sowing media is best to prevent overwatering. Outdoor: Well-drained soils, even poor, dry or stony soils.
Culturals practices : The cinquefoil is content with ordinary soil, not too heavy. In clay soil, it may be useful to incorporate coarse sand or gravel into the planting soil. This species appreciates the sun, tolerates all well-drained soils, even poor, dry or stony soils. If necessary, lighten heavy soils when planting by adding sand or gravel. Do not add fertilizer or compost. This perennial is particularly frugal. Once installed, it does not need watering, even in severe drought. The herbaceous cinquefoil thrives in warm, sunny locations where it flowers more. In season, the cinquefoil does not require special maintenance. After flowering, remove the shoots that have bloomed. In the spring, prune all dry stems low to the ground to allow the growth of young flowering shoots. Scratch superficially to loosen the soil. The only way to multiply them is to divide the stumps at the start of the vegetation in April. Take shards rooted around the edge of the stump and plant them in light, well-loosened soil. Water moderately to promote recovery.
