Plantation : Schefflera seeds can be a little tricky to germinate. It recommended to pre-soak the seeds in hot water for 12 to 24 hours before planting. You will boost the germination rate up to 97%. Keep the temperature between 75 to 85 °F (23 to 29 °C). Plant the seeds 1 inch deep in moist soil. Place them where the plant can receive bright, indirect sunlight.

Soil : Sowing: a well-drained, porous sowing media is the best to prevent over watering. Transplantation: slightly acidic, sandy, rich and well-drained soils.

Culturals practices : A great setup for these seeds would be a 4” pot. Plant 1-3 seeds per pot. Cover the planter in a ziploc bag to maintain humidity and place in a warm and bright spot, like a windowsill, or a grow light. Once the seedlings start to sprout, and especially when the adult leaves start showing up (those are the second sets of leaves), you can remove the ziploc bag. After the transplantation, in the growing season, keep the plant at a temperature around 22 °C, and in winter 13-16 °C. Try to avoid temperature drops, as well as drafts. Schefflera is fertilized twice a month during the vegetative period (from spring to autumn) with universal fertilizers for indoor plants. Young plants are transplanted every year (in spring or autumn). From the age of three, the replanting procedure takes place every two to three years.
