This first-year flowering perennial flowers within 12 weeks from a spring sowing and will bring blue to the garden all summer. Striking, purple-blue flowers are produced in profusion on upright spikes and compact plant . The sweet, mint smell of the fresh and edible foliage attracts butterflies and bees.

Culturals practices : Calaminthas are perennials that tolerate temperatures down to -24 °C. Ideal in sunny and shady places and in the undergrowth, it requires a humus and well-drained soil. It can give a beautiful flowering plant of 60 cm in all directions if the soil is richer, without its stems shedding. Its stems die off in the winter, and the stump is cleaned of its old, dry stems in the spring, low above the new emerging leaves.
