One of the very good varieties for our Nordic gardens, Mardi stands out for its sweet, nutty flavour and crisp consistency. The large, tightly packed heads grow on a large plant with well-covering foliage. Its rapid growth makes it a variety that is very well suited for spring, summer and fall harvests.

Green Thumb

Cultural practices : cauliflower, more than any other vegetable, is affected by climate and grows best in cool weather. For an early harvest, sow them in a greenhouse between early February and mid-March, the young seedlings must be hardened before transplanting them to the garden or sowing them in the ground as soon as the soil allows. For a fall harvest, sow cauliflower in open ground between early and mid-June.

Soil : cauliflower prefers fertile soil and needs moisture. Plant them in full sun with light shade.

Spacing : Plant them at a depth of 6 mm to 13 mm, as far apart as possible. When the seedlings are 10 cm high, thin out to 45 cm to 50 cm in rows spaced 60 cm to 90 cm apart.

Growing tips : for varieties that do not have self-covering foliage, tie the foliage to cover the center, to prevent sun scorch of the plant.

Harvest : harvest it when the head is firm and the desired size.
